If I had to choose just one Hot Wheels accessory, this would probably be it. Yes, it’s a race track. But it’s also toy storage.
At the end of the day, all the cars tuck neatly inside, making cleanup incredibly easy. As a mom, I appreciate anything that doubles as organization.
The built-in launcher keeps play exciting while encouraging coordination and problem solving.

MAGNETIC TILES WITH CAR EXPANSION
Magnetic tiles have been one of the best investments we’ve made, and adding car expansion pieces took them to an entirely new level. Kids can build any cars they can dream up and drive them around. It’s creative, open-ended play that naturally grows with them.
There are a multitude of magnetic tile brands on the market now, but my recommendation would be to go with Magna-Tiles or Connetix, due to their stronger magnets and construction. Our favorite car add-ons are the Neoformers set from Amazon, because they have attachments that allow you to link the cars together.

RESCUE Race Track Adventure Playset
This one has been such a pleasant surprise.
Instead of simply watching cars race down a track, kids become part of the action by moving vehicles through different obstacles and rescue challenges using buttons, levers, and switches. It keeps little hands busy while building fine motor skills, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination.
I especially love that it’s completely screen-free and doesn’t require batteries. It encourages independent play while still being something siblings can enjoy together.

HABA Monza Car Racing Board Game
This is our family's current obsession (we play every day!) and hands-down our favorite board game for little race fans.
Unlike games that rely purely on luck, Monza introduces just enough strategy to keep both kids and adults engaged. Players race colorful wooden cars around the track by matching colored dice, encouraging sequencing, color recognition, and critical thinking—all while feeling like they’re competing in their own Formula 1 race. It’s a fast-paced game that takes about 15 minutes, making it perfect for younger attention spans.
Definitely buy the new edition (as shown here with the blue and yellow cars) because the track comes in pieces. Kids love to set up the track in different configurations and it really adds to the replayability. Bonus: when time is tight, we are able to play shorter versions!

A Note From a LOCAL MOM AND F1 FAN
One day, the Hot Wheels scattered across the living room will disappear. The Formula 1 theme song won’t echo through the house quite so often.
